Developed by Ark-Seal over 20 years ago, BIBS® is the most widely accepted and independently tested blown in wall system used today. In new construction, the fiber is blown behind federally patented netting system, forming a seamless blanket of insulation. BIBS® is licensed by Ark-Seal to independent contractors - such as SDI Insulation - so only qualified installers can apply it, and only approved insulation products may be used.
At SDI we use The OPTIMA® System of Fiber Glass Blow-In Insulation by CertainTeed. OPTIMA® is approved for use in the Blow-In-Blanket® System, and is used in residential and commercial construction as a thermal and acoustical insulation. The OPTIMA® system is designed for installation in sidewalls, cathedral ceilings, floored attics and other closed cavity applications. It has a limited lifetime warranty and has passed the Sidewall Settling Test at NAHAB Research Center.
