About SDI Insulation
Our Story
Steve is the CEO and President of SDI Insulation, Inc. His career in construction began when he was 17 years old working on U.S. Navy and Coast Guard ships for American Bridge, U.S. Steel as a boilermaker at the Hunter's Point shipyard in San Francisco. His second profession was blowing attic insulation into homes in the Bay Area. As a result of this endeavor, Steve's interest in energy conservation took shape. He eventually left the shipyards to pursue that interest full-time and open SDI Insulation, Inc. - a full service insulation contracting company providing batt and blown insulation for residential and commercial applications.
Steve went on to become a noise control specialist and a San Francisco Energy Inspector, working with local utility companies. Environmental awareness has always been important to Steve and led him to pursue "Going Green". SDI Insulation became a licensed spray foam insulator in 2005 and opened a branch office in Sacramento, California. Currently, to stay abreast of new products and applications, Steve attends trade shows, home shows and industry seminars. In the insulation industry for more than 30 years Steve's vision for SDI Insulation includes becoming California's leader in "Green Building" applications.

Our commitment to environmentally aware building practices requires us to constantly search for new products that are on the cutting edge of the "green" building market. We regularly attend trade shows, seminars and conventions, looking for the best products for you and our environment. If a product is of interest to our green building staff, we do our research, make the connections, train our work crews and become a licensed dealer. Peninsula Office
Dave Calkins
Dave has over 30 years in all phases of the building industry. He is an Internationally Certified Passive House Consultant and is also a Certified Passive House Tradesman. Dave is one of only 3 people in the world that holds both of these certifications. Dave's expertise is large or complicated projects with the newest technology and products. He can do Thermal Bridge Analysis, 1 Dimensional Assembly Moisture Analysis and Solar Heat Gain Analyis.
Matt Cilia
Matt is an expert in sound deadening products and is also well educated in the "Green Building" products and applications. Matt is available for both in house and blue print estimates.
Gary Coffman
Gary joined SDI Insulation in 2001 and was promoted to Vice President of the Spray Foam Division in 2006. He has an extensive background in construction and building science.
Steve Pierce
Elmer Reyes
Elmer has 11 years of experience being a Bench Estimator for Residential & Commercial Buildings. At SDI, Elmer handles the entire bidding process; from estimating the take off of materials to pricing materials and installation costs for Insulation, Fireplaces, Mantel, Garage Door, Paints and Gutters. His technical expertise and industry specific software knowledge allows him to stay hyper efficient in and out of the field.
Andrew Schwartz
J. Andrew Schwartz is an Energy Retention Design Consultant at SDI Insulation. He is well versed in all aspects of Title 24 requirements and specializes in light new construction and residential remodel projects.
Joran Stromberg
Joran Stromberg is a Residential/Remodel estimator. He has been at SDI for the over 6 years. Joran can advise you on how to make your existing home more efficient.
Tom Dicandia
Tom Dicandia joined SDI Insulation in February 2011, when Steve DeLorenzi, owner of SDI Insulation, scouted Tom out from Recurve to start a home performance division at SDI Insulation.
Ivan Geddling
Ivan is the manager of the fireplace division at SDI as well as a qualified insulation estimator.
Pamela Martin
Pamela Martin has over a decade of experience helping both residential and commercial property owners in the Areas of Insulation, Solar Energy and Windows for New Construction and Replacement. I have recently participated in partnerships with the San Mateo County Energy Programs and achieved my Green Marketing Certification. My Hands on Approach will provide you recommendations to make your project Environmental Friendly, Energy-Efficient and Cost Effective.
Marin Office
Yannick Pigois
Yannick is well versed in Title 24 compliance and is a full-service estimator, specializing in spray foam, serving SDI customers for the past 2 years.
James Morshead
James work encompasses the greater San Francisco Bay Area, where he is a spray foam specialist and project manager.
Morgan Miller
Morgan resides in the North Bay and serves the region’s insulation needs. Morgan has been involved in the Insulation industry for over 8 yrs.
